What is it ThermiTight® Huntersville & ThermiTight® Charlotte

ThermiTight® is a minimally invasive skin tightening treatment using thermal energy to heat the underlying layers of skin tissues which breaks down fat and improves collagen production. This is quickly becoming a popular skin treatment because it is a step above most non-invasive cosmetic treatments, but not as involved as more invasive cosmetic procedures. No scalpel is required, and therefore skin is tightened without requiring invasive surgery.  In addition to the lower face and neck, treatment can be performed in other areas of the body to treat and tighten loose and sagging skin, such as underarms, back, thighs, buttocks, and even the tummy.

The process works by stimulating natural collagen production and renewal. When this happens, the targeted areas of skin smooth out, reducing or even erasing the loose or sagging effects. It uses a wand-like hand-held device with a SmartTip™ on the end that sends radio frequency into the under layers of the skin.

The SmartTip™ probe sends radiofrequency (RF) energy to warm surrounding sub-dermal tissue. The temperature is warmed to a point where it is therapeutic but not to the point that it is painful. This process targets fat cells to dissolve them so the body can naturally eliminate the fat. To keep the treatment safe and effective during the treatment, the temperature is constantly monitored with the probe as well as an infrared camera to provide a visual reading.  By treating below the skin surface, it can deliver treatment with much greater efficacy than other technology trying to penetrate through the skin surface.  If necessary, patients may be given a local anesthesia prior to treatment to offer more reassurance of no pain. Immediately following the treatment, the treated area is wrapped.

ThermiTight® typically takes one to three hours with most people requiring only one treatment. ThermiTight® is used to treat several areas of the body; however, and sometimes multiple areas can be treated during each visit.

Preparation

There is no preparation for treatments. During a consultation, we provide patients with detailed instructions to ensure a successful treatment.

Recovery

One of the biggest advantages is that there is no recovery. It is easy to go back to work or to normal activities following the treatment. It is recommended that sunscreen be applied to the face when outside to prevent any discoloration. Any side effects are very minor and resolve themselves very quickly.
