Training and Education:  NEUROTOXIN INJECTABLE COURSES

Botox

Prerequisites: 

  1. Must be a licensed physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, nurse or other licensed professional legally able to inject Neurotoxins 2. Interest in using Neurotoxin to assist in aesthetic enhancement and well-being of patients

Program Description: Our course offers a brief introduction to the history of Neurotoxin, Uses, Reconstitution Techniques, Warnings, Contraindications, Risks, Side Effects, Benefits, Injection Techniques, & Management of Complications.  All providers who attend this course will have the opportunity to learn facial anatomy first, assess patients doing a full assisted consults, and then apply their knowledge injecting several live patients.  The goal is for each provider to leave with a comfort level to begin injecting independently and safely.

Classroom:

We have a large, comfortable, and stylish conference room where didactic lessons take place, and 7 treatment rooms available.

Hands On:

Each student will inject 3 or more patients using 25-50 units of Neurotoxin.  Students will also learn to do their own consultation and documentation on the patients.

How is Botox Administered?

Neurotoxin is administered using a small .3cc insulin syringe or the equivalent after reconstituting with normal saline.

What is North Carolina Law? Who can Administer This Treatment?  Physicians, PAs, NPs, and Nurses are legally able to inject in North Carolina.  Additional providers are able to inject, but sometimes this is limited by their regulating Board.  It is the duty of each provider to ensure they are legally able to inject patients prior to attending this course.   We reserve the right to ask to a letter of approval from the appropriate Board.

Advanced Botox

Prerequisites:

  1. Must be a licensed physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, nurse or other licensed professional legally able to inject Neurotoxins
  2. Interest in using Neurotoxin to assist in aesthetic enhancement and well-being of patients
  3. Must complete the beginner course offered at Carolina Age Management Institute or have 2+ years of injecting experience.

Our course offers instruction on advance Neurotoxin Uses including the Lower Face, Tear Troughs, Neck, & Armpits, Alternative Reconstitution Techniques.  All providers who attend this course will have the opportunity to learn appropriate anatomy first, assess patients doing a full assisted consults, and then apply their knowledge injecting several live patients.  The goal is for each provider to leave with a comfort level to begin injecting independently and safely utilizing advanced techniques to broaden their skill set.

Classroom:

We have a large, comfortable, and stylish conference room where didactic lessons take place, and 7 treatment rooms available.

Hands On: Each student will inject 4 to 5 or more patients using 25-50 units of Neurotoxin (more if necessary).  Students will also learn to do their own consultation and documentation on the patients.

  2. Interest in using Dermal Fillers to assist in aesthetic enhancement and well-being of patients

How is Filler Administered?

Filler is administer via syringe and a needle, usually a 27 gauge.  Sometimes, a cannula may be used in place of a needle.  Generally, 1cc of Filler is injected per syringe, but this may vary depending on the type of filler used.

Comprehensive Laser Course

Course Description:

Theory:

A brief summary and review of laser physics and operation as well as thorough instruction on Laser Safety will be given at the start. We will review appropriate Skin Typing and Consultation.  A review of common skin conditions that can be treated with laser and IPL will be presented with pathology and pictorial guide.

Hands On:

This course will instruct on how to perform superficial Laser peels, Single Spot Laser Treatments, IPL/BBL Photofacial, Bruise BBL Therapy, Rosacea IPL Therapy, Profractional Skin Resurfacing, Facial Vascular Treatment, Leg Vein Treatment, Toe Nail Fungus, Laser Skin Tightening, Laser Hair Removal and IPL Hair Removal, BBL Acne Treatment, and if available Laser Scar Reduction therapy. Each student will be allowed to treat as many conditions as able on live patients within allotted time frame.

Intense Pulse Light/ Photo Facial

Prerequisites:

A desire to learn how to use Intense Pulse Light Therapy to treat a myriad of skin conditions affecting Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-IV such as Hyperpigmentation, Facial Vascular Lesions, Rosacea, and Acne.

Course Description:

Each student will be given a didactic lecture on the fundamentals of IPL/BBL as well as instructions on IPL/BBL Safety.  Following a morning of didactics, the students will spend the entire afternoon participating in live patient cases representing a variety of common skin conditions treated with IPL/BBL.  Each student with learn proper Skin Typing and Consultations methods.

Prerequisites:

Students must have a solid grasp on laser fundamentals prior to registering for this course.  This is a course in Advanced Laser Technique.

What Devices Will I Train On?

We feel that Tunable Sciton Erbium Lasers provide the best flexibility and results for this type of procedure.  Plus, it’s what we know and have been extensively trained to use.  It is our belief that although there may be many ways to do this procedure, the ones who do it best are the ones who master the equipment of choice first.

Course Description:

This course is for the advanced Laser Practitioner that wishes to learn aggressive techniques on Deep Laser Resurfacing for the purpose of completing Laser Skin Tightening, Wrinkle Ablation and Mitigation, and Resurfacing.  Ocular techniques using intraocular shields will be taught.  Facial nerve blocks and tumescent anesthesia will be utilized and taught as well.

Training Includes:

Didactic instruction and live patient treatment.  The students will be able to participate in the entire case per their comfort level and at the discretion of the instructor.  Course will be limited to 1-2 students per instructor.
